Autorun (the feature that enabled the disc to play) is a virus vector and it is recommended that you keep it off and double click on the CD or DVD under Computer
Is there a warranty on my computer work?
Virus removal can be brought in up to 30 days after the initial tuneup and The Computer Guy will consider your claim if you followed the given directions to prevent a virus when you picked up your computer. If the internet browsing history, cookies, etc. is deleted when you bring it back your claim will not be considered. Warranty work on software is at The Computer Guy's discretion. Warranties on hardware are considered up to 60 days after the repair or the manufacturer's warranty may be redeemed. All warranty work is at the The Computer Guy's sole discretion. The only way to 100% ensure you will not get another virus is to not get on the internet at all or otherwise share files. However, there are ways to be less susceptible to getting one. An antivirus software is installed when The Computer Guy cleans up your computer, a good way to not get a virus keep it updated or look into purchasing a subscription based software. Don't use Internet Explorer-Use Firefox, Chrome or Opera Don't click on things you don't know or understand Don't open email attachments from sources you don't know Keep current on Windows updates
What do I need to bring in with my computer?
You only need to provide the tower. We do not need any cables or the keyboard or mouse. If you bring in a laptop we do need the power adapter with it.
Can I make payments on a product?
There is a possibility of being able to make payments on certain products. They can be paid out over a month and will need to be discussed with The Computer Guy.
Can I get better downloads from Limewire?
Using limewire and other free music sharing sites is not using legal content and are a great way to get a virus. The use of these programs is highly discouraged. Just because someone you know uses them does not mean that they do not have problems on their computers already.
A window keeps popping up saying that my computer is infected and that I can pay $xx.xx to have it removed.
This is a virus and you should bring it in to get it removed.
